Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Good News’ debuts at #2 on ‘Billboard’ 200

Good News, folks: Megan Thee Stallion is headed toward her first #1 album with her long-awaited debut.

 

The project has bowed at #2 on the Billboard 200 album chart, earning over 100,500 total album-equivalent units in the first week of sales. This marks Megan’s biggest debut on the chart, following 2019’s Fever mixtape and her Suga EP, which both landed in the chart’s top 10.

According to BillboardGood News is also the most-streamed album of the week, with 115.85 million on-demand streams, plus roughly 16,000 in traditional album sales and over 2,000 track equivalent album units.

Good News features collaborations with DaBaby, SZA, City Girls, Lil Durk, Big Sean, 2 Chainz andYoung Thug, plus previous singles “Body” and the “Savage” remix featuring Beyoncé, the latter of which topped the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 song chart after its release in May. 

Megan’s latest Billboard achievement follows her recent Grammy nominations for Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap Song. 

“We just keep beating the odds hotties! Doing everything they said we couldn’t,” wrote Megan on Instagram, with a crying emoji. “Thank y’all so much for always supporting me and I promise to keep getting better for y’all. Thank you to everyone who was apart of creating this album. Keep running up Good News.”
