In addition to starring in New Edition and Bell Biv Devoe, Bivins launched the careers of Boyz II Men and several other acts, including 702 and Another Bad Creation. Now, he’s created a new album featuring several friends, including Ronnie DeVoe of Bell Biv DeVoe and his wife, Amy, and BBD’S Ricky Bell and his wife, Shamari.

Biv thanks his wife, Teasha, for suggesting the project.

“I’m fortunate enough to have a remix single with Ricky and Amy on it, and I’m fortunate enough to have Ronnie and Shamari’s single,” Bivens tells ABC Radio. “It’s something I would never have thought in a million years, but my wife she told me you need to go back and do what you do best.”

The 50-year-old singer/rapper says Teasha told him he needed to produce an album featuring several stars like DJ Khaled.

“She said you just should do a project, just do an album like Khaled,” he remembers.

After 40 years in the music business, Bivens is still excited to produce new music. “It felt good just seeing something and taking it from nothing and turning it into something that’s sitting there in a vault,” he says.

“I just want to say to my wife, sometimes it’s good when someone else sees something in you and because of her, we have a full project called Stay Fly,” Biv adds.

Bivins has not revealed the release date for Stay Fly. He’s currently preparing for the Bell Biv DeVoe tour with Bobby Brown, the RBRM tour, which kicks off September 6 in Ontario, California. They will perform ten dates through September 23 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
