Courtesy of DKC O&MThe Michael Jackson stage musical, Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough, has scrapped its pre-Broadway run in Chicago due to “scheduling difficulties” caused by the recent Actors’ Equity strike, Deadline reports.

The show was initially supposed to make its debut at Chicago’s James M. Nederlander Theatre on October 29, going through December 1. Now, it will be making its world premiere on Broadway in summer 2020. A developmental work session for the show will take place this fall in New York.

According to Deadline, the 33-day Equity strike, which ended on February 8, restricted union members from participating in the developmental labs for Broadway musicals.

The decision to cancel the pre-Broadway dates was announced by The Michael Jackson Estate and Columbia Live Stage, the producers of the musical.

Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough will be set behind-the-scenes in 1992, as Jackson rehearses for his Dangerous tour. The show will include more than 25 of Jackson’s hits.
