Michelle Obama Draws Thousands as Book Tour Kicks Off

KRNB – Before her book tour officially began, the new book penned by former first lady Michelle Obama had already become a ‘best seller’ in the first day of release on November 13th.

And the The Root reports, “just four days after its Nov. 13 release, Penguin Random House announced Mrs. Obama’s memoir, Becoming, sold more than 725,000 units in all formats and editions in the United States and Canada on the first day of its publication, including preorders.” Her success comprises the largest single-day sales total for any 2018 book release by the world’s largest trade publisher.  The book is trending toward being the biggest book of 2018.

Now, as the book tour is officially underway, the first African American first lady, is packing book signings… not to mention the first stop on the tour, her home town of Chicago which saw a standing room only crowd at the Windy City’s United Center, where she and Oprah chatted for about 2-hours about the book.

UPDATED:   During a book tour stop in Washington DC, Mrs. Obama got a surprise visit from her hubby. Former President Obama adorned his wife with flowers and likened themselves to ‘Beyond and Jay Z.
