Michelle Obama’s kids’ cooking show debut set; Master P & Romeo Miller behind BET+ film, ‘Never and Again’

Courtesy of NetflixFormer first lady Michelle Obama‘s new kids’ cooking show, Waffles + Mochi, arrives March 16th on Netflix.

According to Netflix, Mrs. Obama will play as a supermarket owner in the series, which supports “kids and grown-ups cooking together in the kitchen and connecting to cultures around the globe.”

Obama, who also executive-produces the series, will asisst her two puppets, Waffles and Mochi, with “global ingredient missions, traveling to kitchens, restaurants, farms and homes all over the world, cooking up recipes with everyday ingredients alongside renowned chefs, home cooks, kids and celebrities.”

Hip-hop mogul Percy “Master P” Miller and his son, Romeo Miller, are also set to executive-produce the upcoming BET+ film Never and Again. The film follows the love story of Kevin, played by ATL‘s Jackie Long, and Jasmine, played by actress Denise Boutté, according to a press release.  The two rekindle their teenage romance after crossing paths as adults years later — “But are the wounds from the past hurt too much to reconcile what they once had, or will they trust each other and allow fate to prevail?”

Never and Again arrives Feb. 11th, also featuring Christian KeyesBishop Don Magic Juan, Ella Joyce, and more including Romeo’s Growing Up Hip Hip co-star, Vanessa Simmons.

BET also picked up the 12-episode series Long Slow Exhale, in partnership with Spectrum Originals. In the mystery drama, actress Rose Rollins plays J.C. Abernathy, the successful Head Coach of a competitive women’s college basketball team, who finds herself in the middle of a sexual abuse scandal. The series, executive-produced by CSI: NY’s Pam Veasey, ran on Spectrum for nine months, prior to landing at BET.
