Before Miguel became a tour headliner, the singer opened for major recording stars like Usher, and Miguel says he has no regrets about his tour experiences as an opening act.
“I’ve gotten to experience tour life in so many different ways with so many different artists, artists that I look up to, artists that have taught me so much. And up to this point I’ve enjoyed my touring, I would say, to the fullest,” he tells SOHH.com.
He makes it clear, though, that running his own trek is monumental and he tells fans what they can expect.
“I want you to see it live because in that setting you know for a f****** fact that it’s real. There’s no faking,” he says. “It’s real time. There’s no delete and rewrite. It’s just pure, uncut, f****** moments. And they’ll be moments that we shared real time, and that’s what the f*** music is about for me. So, man, I’m more excited than anything, and I’m appreciative and grateful.”
After kicking off his North American trek on Friday in Austin, Texas Miguel will make stops in cities including Philadelphia, New York, Chicago and Toronto, before wrapping things up September 4 in his hometown of Los Angeles.
