Miguel scores his first number-one on R&B Albums as Wildheart lands atop the Billboard chart this week.
According to the publication, the singer’s third album, which sold 41,000 copies, also earned the number 2 slot on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Over on the cross-gene Billboard 200, the album opens at number 2, his highest-charting album yet following 2012’s Kaleidoscope Dream, which entered at number three.
The album’s lead single “Coffee” is also making waves on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, climbing from number 32 to number 29 thanks to a 25 percent rise in streams.
Although he told ABC Radio that “Waves” will be the next single from the album, Miguel’s new track “Simple Things” arrives on the Hot R&B Songs chart at number 21 and selling 15,000 digital downloads.
In related news, Miguel is gearing up to kick off his North American summer tour, beginning July 24 in Austin, Texas and wrapping up September 4 in his hometown of Los Angeles.
