Janet Jackson‘s video presence brought Missy Elliott to tears at her Hollywood Walk of Fame party Monday night in Los Angeles

LL Cool J, Janelle Monáe, MC Lyte, CeCe Peniston and Cheryl “Salt” James were among the 50 guests at the party, according to Variety. Lizzo and Ciara, who honored Missy during her ceremony earlier in the day, also attended the bash at The West Hollywood Edition hotel.

A video tribute included Jackson, Queen Latifah, Timbaland, Brandy and Busta Rhymes. Missy was especially moved by Janet’s words.

“Your music, kids still live for it to this very day,” Jackson said, as the 50-year-old hip hop icon wiped away tears.

“It’s been a long journey on a very tough road that only a few arrive to,” the “Rhythm Nation” singer added. “I am so proud of you and I love you so much.”

Janet and Missy collaborated on “Son of a Gun (I Bet You Think This Song Is About You)” in 2001, “The 1” in 2008, and “BURNITUP!” in 2015.

“I just want to say representing the men out there in the game and people who have been doing it for years, we love you, we respect you, we appreciate you,” LL Cool J said about the “Work It” rapper.

As previously reported, Missy was humbled during her ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard. “This is a moment that I shall never forget & all the people who have been on this journey with me through my ups and downs & sickness I want you all to know how much you mean to me,” she said as she was honored with the 2,708th star on the Walk of Fame.
