Monica‘s latest effort, “Commitment,” has ascended to new heights on Billboard‘s Adult R&B Songs chart this week.
After making its debut 22 weeks ago, the endearing ballad has reached the number two spot on the chart, second only to Robin Thicke‘s “That’s What Love Can Do.”
While the record accounts for Monica’s sixth top-10 single on the Adult R&B Songs tally, it could easily become her first number-one entry on the chart in nearly a decade, since 2010’s “Love All Over Me.” The vocal powerhouse also previously held the top spot with “Everything to Me” and “For You I Will.”
Later this year, Monica is expected to release her highly-anticipated ninth studio album, Chapter 38. The effort marks her first independent release under her newly-formed imprint, Mondeenise Music, and will also include her latest single, “Me + You.”
