Ne-Yo, Mary J Blige, Wiz Khalifa Nominated for Critics Choice Awards

ABC/ Lou RoccoThe nominees have been announced on both the film and TV sides for the Critics’ Choice Awards, and there’s a few R&B entertainers who have been recognized.

Ne-Yo is nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Movie Made for Television for his role as Tin Man in NBC’s The Wiz Live! His castmate, Mary J Blige, who portrayed The Wicked Witch of the West, is up for Best Supporting Actress in a Movie Made for Television. In total, the three-hour production of the 1974 musical based on The Wizard of Oz scored five nominations, including Best Movie Made for Television.

Elsewhere, Wiz Khalifa‘s “See You Again” featuring Charlie Puth is nominated for Best Song from the Furious 7 soundtrack.

Winners will be announced at the 21st annual Critics’ Choice Awards set for January 17 at Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, and airing live on A&E, Lifetime and LMN.
