Sorry, New Edition fans.

The legendary R&B group is unfortunately not going on tour this year, as band member Ricky Bell notes in an Instagram message

But, there is good news: contrary to rumors, fellow group members Johnny Gill and Ralph Tresvantare indeed still a part of New Edition.

Bell explains, “I know that some of you may be a bit confused and/or disappointed that “NE,” as you know us, is not going on tour at this time. Trust me when I tell you I’m just as disappointed as you are.”

Bell goes on: “Although I’m not able to go into specific details at this very moment, I will say this much — Nobody gets kicked out of NE anymore.”

“Those days are long behind us. Like all families we have differences that plague us and those indifferences [sic] must be dealt with and smoothed out for us to function as the single unit that will allow us to tour as NE again.”

The group famously ousted Bobby Brown in 1985. Johnny Gill joined the group in 1987.

However, Ricky, along with Ronnie DeVoe, Michael Bivins and Bobby Brown are going on tour, as a foursome called RBRM

New Edition experienced a resurgence in popularity last year, thanks to the release of their highly successful BET biopic miniseries, The New Edition Story
