The nostalgic track initially entered the tally at number 24 eight weeks ago, but now has dethroned Queen Naija‘s “Karma” to lead the pack.
Bus now ties with R&B veterans Sparkle and Carl Thomas for reaching the summit with a debut song entry in record time. Both of the latter’s respective hits, “Be Careful” and “I Wish,” went number one in eight weeks.
“I remember 10 years ago I met this gentleman who was a writer for Billboard. In my heart I said one day I will be on that Billboard chart…I never thought it would be a number 1,” Bus wrote on Instagram about her first chart-topper.
Last month, Bus recruited Ghostface Killa for a “You (Remix).” A month prior, she enlisted Rick Ross for an alternative version.
Before the end of the year, Bus is slated to release her debut album via Roc Nation.
