Gus Stewart/RedfernsSade is back on the music scene with a brand-new, sultry track.
The “No Ordinary Love” singer has released the new song, “The Big Unknown” for the upcoming Widows‘ soundtrack, which will be available on November 16. The new track is accompanied by a lyric video that features scenes from the Steve McQueen movie crime thriller.
“It was an honor to work with such a legend,” McQueen told the Los Angeles Times about working with Sade. “Sade is an incomparable talent and incredible artist who so rarely releases new material, but luckily the original series of Widows had deeply resonated with her.”
“The Big Unknown” was specifically written for Widows’ final scene. McQueen says he “encouraged” Sade to “dig deep within to write a song about loss and survival.”
This is Sade’s latest track after the legendary singer resurfaced earlier this year to release a new song, “Flowers in the Universe,” for the A Wrinkle in Time soundtrack.
Although there’s no formal confirmation, Sade’s reportedly working new music music for an upcoming album.
Widows, which stars Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Daniel Kaluuya and Brian Tyree Henry, hits theaters nationwide November 16.
