ABC/Randy HolmesChance the Rapper is to thank for Wendy’s revival of its beloved spicy chicken nuggets.
Over the weekend, the “No Problem” lyricist manifested the prized menu item’s return after he tweeted a list of positive affirmations which included: “Wendy’s WILL bring back spicy nuggets at some point please please Lord let it be today.”
Shortly after the tweet began to gain traction, the restaurant chain responded to Chance’s tweet by tasking his followers with the ultimate challenge: achieve 2 million likes on the post in question.
“Y’all keep asking, so here’s your chance. The people in charge say if you guys can get our tweet (this one right here) to 2 Million likes, they will bring SPICY CHICKEN NUGGETS BACK,” Wendy’s requested.
As the number of likes soared into the thousands, Chance even tossed in some album promotion as a part of his nugget campaign. Eventually, the brand confirmed that the nuggets would, indeed be coming back…at an unknown date.
“THIS IS NOT A DRILL! Spicy Chicken Nuggets are coming back! Y’all are crazy!” the fast food franchise tweeted.
The spicy chicken nuggets were discontinued from Wendy’s menus in 2017.
