Not so fast: Vivica A. Fox now says she didn’t have COVID-19 after pulling out of Sunday’s Emmys red carpet

Gregg DeGuire/WireImageVivica A. Fox is setting the record straight. After announcing in a statement that she had tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of Sunday’s Emmys, Fox now says it was a false positive.

“On Friday I took a self administered COVID-19 test and as many of you are aware, it came back positive,” Fox wrote in an Instagram statement. “Two days ago I took another COVID test, this one administered by a medical professional, and I am thrilled to announce that last night my results came back NEGATIVE!”

“I am feeling great and I want to thank everyone for their show of love and support,” Vivica added, before posting an image of her negative test result.

As previously reported, Fox was set to co-host the E! Emmy virtual red carpet on Sunday, but pulled out because of her COVID-19 diagnosis. Her pre-show co-host, Giuliana Rancic, also cancelled after revealing that she too had tested positive for COVID-19.

Brad Goreski and Nina Parker ended up hosting E!’s virtual Emmy red carpet.
