Paisley Park Museum Gets Temporary Permit for Upcoming Dates

Kevin Winter/Getty ImagesSome relief for Prince fans who were planning to take part in the tours of his Paisley Park estate in Chanhassen, Minnesota, this week.

A rezoning issue had put into question the scheduled start of tours this Thursday. However, Paisley Park has announced that a temporary permit has been granted by the local city council for three dates, including Thursday and Saturday.

“We are hopeful that we can arrange for additional temporary permit dates at Paisley Park, and will keep guests updated as we learn more,” it said in a press release Tuesday afternoon.

For now, the tours scheduled for Thursday, Saturday, and Friday, October 14 will go on as planned. Paisley Park will try to accommodate on those dates fans with tickets for October 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 15.

The city council voted Monday night to delay rezoning of the property into a museum, citing potential traffic issues.

Paisley Park also noted in its press release that it’s in discussions to host an exhibition of Prince artifacts and wardrobe at the nearby Mall of America that it hopes will open by early next week.

Prince was found dead in his home on April 21. It was determined that the singer, who was 57, died from an accidental overdose of the powerful painkiller fentanyl.
