David LaChapelle/NBCPharrell Williams will perform at an exclusive outdoor concert during this year’s Toronto International Film Festival on September 10. The Grammy award winner will entertain audiences after the premiere of the NASA drama, Hidden Figures, which also stars recording artist Janelle Monáe.
“Toronto audiences will be the first to hear Pharrell’s new music for Hidden Figures, and they’ll see it performed live on Festival Street,” said TIFF Artistic Director, Cameron Bailey.
Williams co-produced Hidden Figures and wrote original music for the film’s soundtrack as well. The movie’s director, Theodore Melfi, also praised the entertainer for his musical work for the soundtrack.
“Pharrell’s musical genius acumen takes the film to a different level,” said Melfi.
Hidden Figures is scheduled for release in nationwide theaters January 2017.
