Platinum Award Takes Mariah Carey’s Mind Off Her Pain

Mariah tweeted, “As I heal from my recent injuries, it was nice for Steve Bartels, president of [my record company] to come by and celebrate the Platinum success of #Beautiful.”  Accompanying that message was an Instagram photo of Mariah, in a pink dress, heels and a stylish black arm sling, posing with Bartels and an immense platinum award plaque that’s nearly as tall as she is.  “Platinum — #1 in 40 Countries,” reads the plaque, marking sales of more than a million downloads for the Miguel duet.

“Thank you #lambily for having patience with me as I recover,” Mariah added, “I’ve never experienced any pain like this and I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy, LOL, yet true.”

Mariah also tweeted her fans to ask them to vote for her dogs, who are in the running for InStyle magazine’s “Most Stylish Pet on Instagram” contest.  She’s got eight, count ’em, eight Jack Russell terriers, and features them on her Instagram feed all the time.
