Pop Smoke‘s second posthumous album is set to arrive July 16th to follow up last year’s Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon.

trailer for the new album was shared on the late rapper’s YouTube channel, featuring archival footage of Pop Smoke talking about his creativity and how he planned to make history in New York’s rap scene.

“I always knew I was going be something good. I feel like it’s coming back to New York. When you keep winning, they can’t stop you from nothing,” Pop says in the trailer. “The fake can never succeed in nothing. When you know what you want, don’t let nobody get in between you and your creation. I ain’t tryna just be cool; we gotta make history.”

Pop Smoke, born Bashar Barakah Jackson, was shot and killed at age 20 on February 19, 2020, during a home invasion at a property he rented in Los Angeles, California. In July, Pop’s debut album, Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon, was released by his music mentor and executive producer,Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. It debuted at #1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 Albums chart that same month.

All 19 tracks from Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon placed on the Billboard Hot 100 song chart, including “For the Night,” featuring Lil Baby and DaBaby, which landed at #6. A deluxe edition featuring 15 new tracks was released on what would have been Pop Smoke’s 21st birthday on July 20th.
