by

Columbia RecordsBeyonce is giving fans 17 reasons to purchase her new, self-titled visual album, which was released without fanfare via iTunes on Thursday night.

The singer has unveiled 30-second teasers of her project’s 17 music videos via her official YouTube page. The clips were shot by various directors, including Melina Matsoukas, Jonas Akerlund, Hype Williams, and Jake Nava, and filmed around the world, from Houston to New York City to Paris, Sydney and Rio de Janeiro.

The clips also feature cameos from her guest artists — Jay Z, who appears in “Drunk in Love,” and Drake, who stars in “Mine” — as well as her friends and family, including Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams on the song “Superpower,” Tina Knowles on “Grown Woman,” and even daughter Blue Ivy, on “Blue”.

“I see music. It’s more than just what I hear,” said Bey in a statement, explaining the videos. “When I’m connected to something, I immediately see a visual or a series of images that are tied to a feeling or an emotion, a memory from my childhood, thoughts about life, my dreams or my fantasies. And they’re all connected to the music.”
