In an interview with Today‘s Al Roker, the music icon’s sister Tyka Nelson disclosed that the birds just haven’t been the same since the legend’s death.

“After he passed, they weren’t talking. When I first came in, I’m like, ‘Where’s the doves? What’s going on?'” Nelson explained to Roker.

During the interview, Nelson told Roker that Majesty and Divinity were indeed inside Prince’s spacious Paisley Park estate, but “weren’t making any noise” immediately after the entertainer’s passing.

Roker heard the doves singing, while touring the compound Wednesday, but noticed that the music was anything but merry.

“It’s literally doves crying right now,” Roker revealed.

Tours of the late entertainer’s Paisley Park home and recording studio are currently underway for today, Saturday and Friday, October 14. A zoning issue curbed ongoing scheduled tours of the compound.

Fans who have purchased tickets for October 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 15 are awaiting notice for further accommodations.
