A family source tells Entertainment Tonight that there will be a public service, and also a private memorial. Times and locations were not revealed.
Jackson, patriarch of the Jackson family, died June 27. He was 89. Jackson had been hospitalized with cancer. Over the last few years, he’d also suffered a stroke and a number of heart attacks.
One of his daughters, La Toya Jackson, paid tribute to her late father, remembering him for inspiring her success, and her siblings Janet, Rebbie, Michael, Jermaine, Marlon, Jackie, Tito and Randy.
“I will always love you!,” La Toya tweeted. “You gave us strength, you made us one of the most famous families in the world. I am extremely appreciative of that, I will never forget our moments together and how you told me how much you cared. #RIP Joe Jackson.”
