Puff Daddy, Common & More Join Essence Festival

Johnny Louis/Getty ImagesSean “Puff Daddy” Combs and Common are the latest additions to this year’s Essence Festival.

The festival Wednesday revealed their night-by-night musical lineup that will take place across five stages in the New Orleans Superdome.

Rounding out the previously announced A-list performers including Kendrick Lamar, Mariah Carey and Maxwell, the festival will host intimate superlounge performances ranging from Kelly Price and Lalah Hathaway, to Jidenna and Doug E. Fresh.

For the first time, the fest will offer a special curation by Estelle, who also will perform on Saturday’s main stage, alongside Wizkid and Lady Leshurr.

Here’s the 2016 Essence Festival night-by-night musical lineup:

Friday, July 1, Mainstage: Maxwell, New Edition, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Tyrese, Faith Evans, Avery Wilson

Superlounges: Digable Planets, Daley, Eric Bellinger, Lion Babe, The Internet, Tweet, Mali Music, V. Bozeman, Kelly Price, Zakes Bantwini, Skye Wanda.
 
Saturday, July 2, Mainstage: Mariah Carey, Charlie Wilson, Common, Jeremih, Estelle. 

Superlounges: Doug E. Fresh, Tink, Jidenna, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, St. Beauty, Lalah Hathaway, Judith Hill, Wizkid, Lady Leshurr.
 
Sunday, July 3, Mainstage: Kendrick Lamar, Puff Daddy & The Family, Ciara, Andra Day

Superlounges: MC Lyte, Dej Loaf, Cyril Neville, Leon Bridges, Kehlani, New Breed Brass Band, Robert Glasper Experiment, BJ The Chicago Kid, The Brand New Heavies, Little Simz.
