Christian LantryLess than 24 hours after R. Kelly announced he’d be embarking on an international tour, the dates appeared to have been cancelled.
As previously reported, the 12 Play artist took to Twitter to share the news of his impending trek on Wednesday. Billed as the King of R&B tour, the trek was set to kick off “soon” with stops in Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
However, all promotional material has since been scrubbed from Kelly’s social media accounts.
Billboard points out that the tweet was most likely deleted following a wave of backlash from Twitter users who urged fans not to buy concert tickets. Kelly’s been under fire since the shocking Lifetime expose Surviving R. Kelly aired, detailing the decades-long history of sexual, physical and mental abuses allegedly carried out by the singer.
