Raphael Saadiq’s Something Keeps Calling lands in ‘Billboard’ Adult R&B Songs top ten

Raphael Saadiq continues to add impressive feats to his storied career with his latest effort, “Something Keeps Calling.”

Lifted from his newly-released album Jimmy Lee, the deeply introspective single has ascended to the #4 position on Billboard‘s Adult R&B Songs Chart. The Rob Bacon-assisted ballad accounts for Saadiq’s first top-10 hit on the tally in 10 years, following “Never Give You Up” featuring Stevie Wonder and CJ, which similarly peaked at #4 in July 2009.

Prior to that, the former Tony! Toni! Toné! frontman scored his first top-10 Adult R&B Songs entry with “Ask of You,” which rose to #3 in May 1995. The deep cut is Saadiq’s only top-10 hit on the chart as a solo artist.

Monday, the veteran R&B crooner announced he’ll embark on a North American trek next year in support of Jimmy Lee. The tour’s slated to kick off in January in San Diego, CA and will hit major cities including New Orleans, Dallas, Atlanta, New York and Detroit before wrapping in Los Angeles.
