R&B Stars React to B.B. King’s Death

Image Courtesy Kevin WestenbergBlues legend B.B. King died Thursday at the age of 89 after years of ill health. Understandably, the music world is reacting to his death and mourning the void he’ll leave. Here’s a round-up of some the online reactions from the R&B world:

Tyrese: “Wow I’m devastated to have just found out he news of a very special gentle giant who has transitioned – my special and sincere prayers to the family children and grandchildren of the KING FAMILY thank you for all of the memories thank you for being an icon and one of our true forefathers of the blues and TRUTH MUSIC….. Aweeee man this hurts bad…. Tonight I’m gonna watch the documentary of #WhenWeWereKings #RIH Rest In Heaven and play some of those chords for our fathers!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Leelah James: “So sad to hear of the passing of the legendary BB King. As a lover of blues music, he was definitely one of my inspirations and will be greatly missed.
