Photo credit: Dan MartensenToronto rapper Drake opened up about his strained relationship with label mate Nicki Minaj, his appreciation of Kanye West, and his love for Taylor Swift in a candid interview with Beats 1’s Zane Lowe before his Global Listening Event Thursday night.

Speaking to the British DJ, Drake addressed the current relationship between him and Nicki Minaj, explaining that it was “still all love” and that the beef between him and Meek Mill did strain — but did not destroy — his love for the “Starships” rapper.

“I don’t really talk to Nicki. Again, another person that I have a lot of love and respect for,” said Drake.  “Not only for our past and how much work and time we put in, but even with the way she dealt with the [Meek Mill rivalry]. I understand what love is, and I understand a personal situation. She dealt with me how I would expect her to which was with class. I could only ever do the same.”

Drizzy also shared his utmost respect for Chi-town rapper Kanye West. Drake talks about being Ye’s neighbor in Calabasas, California, and how he’s planning on collaborating with the Good Music head honcho.

“I take pride in being Kanye West’s neighbor. He has a phenomenal pool. His pool’s gotta be like half a football field … Mine was designed to outdo Hugh Hefner’s pool. I’m willing to sell it for $100 million,” Drake says. “We have a few things that we’ve worked on. It’s all about finding a place for it. ‘Ye is one of my favorite people in the world … I hope we get some more music out. We were supposed to do a mixtape, album together.”

While Kanye’s had a tumultuous relationship with pop star Taylor Swift, Drake deems the former country star “angelic”.

“I love Taylor too, man. She’s just such a sweetheart for doing that [Apple commercial] and just in general. She’s angelic to me man.”  Drake’s referring to the commercial where Swift jogs on a treadmill and raps along to Drake and Future‘s “Jumpman,” ultimately falling flat on her face.  Sales of the single after the spot did just the opposite.
