Releases from Ty Dolla $ign, Big K.R.I.T., and 112 are notable New Music Friday discs

Ty Dolla $ign drops his second studio CD, Beach House 3, featuring a dozen collaborations, including Lil Wayne, Future, Pharrell, Wiz Khalifa, The Dream, Jeremih, and Damian Marley. The 20-track album is the latest in his Beach House series. The L.A. rapper released the mixtapes Beach House and Beach House 2 in 2012 and 2013, respectively, as well as his Beach House EP in 2014.

Big K.R.I.T’s 4EVA Is A Mighty Long Time is his third studio album, and the follow-up to his 2012 EP, 4eva N a Day (Road Less Traveled Edition). The 22-track double album project includes features from T.I., Lloyd, UGK, CeeLo Green, Sleepy Brown, Joi, Jill Scott, Bilal, and Robert Glasper Jr. The Mississippi rapper’s previous studio releases — Live from the Underground in 2012, and Cadillactica in 2014 — both reached number one on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop chart.

112 is making a comeback with their first new album in 12 years, Q Slim Mike Daron, named after the group’s four members. Their sixth studio CD features Faith Evans and Jagged Edge. All five of their previous albums were certified gold or platinum. The Grammy award-winning group will perform at the 2017 Soul Train Awards in Las Vegas, which will air November 26 on BET.
