TMZ reports that according to court documents, Laura Helm, who accused the R&B crooner of exposing her to herpes, filed to dismiss her suit earlier this week, stating that she and the Confessions vocalist had “reached an amicable resolution.”

The dismissal was reportedly filed with prejudice, which means that the case cannot be refiled again.  As TMZ reports, that usually means there’s been a monetary settlement.

Back in 2017, Usher found himself at the center of controversy after a handful of women and one man came forward to accuse him of exposing them to the virus. Helm initially sought $10 million for emotional harm and punitive damages, and then increased her demand to $20 million.

A few months later, TMZ notes, Helm filed to dismiss the case on technical reasons, but then refiled it in 2018.  Now, it’s definitely over.

Helm’s dismissal arrives one year after the male accuser, who was identified as John Doe in court documents, dropped his case.
