According to TMZ, Lionel’s 24-year-old son Miles Richie was involved in an incident at Heathrow Airport in London on Saturday. The website reports that Miles was trying to board a flight, but was barred from doing so. He got upset and allegedly claimed he had a bomb, and that he’d detonate it if he wasn’t allowed onto the plane.

TMZ further reports that when security was called, Miles allegedly got physical with one of the guards, which led to police detaining him and issuing him a “caution.” In the U.K., if you accept a “caution,” it means you accept responsibility, but you’re not charged with a crime. You also don’t need to appear in court — but it goes on your record.

If you don’t agree to accept the caution, you may be arrested and charged.

London’s Metropolitan Police told People magazine in a statement that “a 24-year-old man accepted a caution for communicating false information causing a bomb hoax and battery following an incident at Heathrow Terminal 5.” The Met wouldn’t identify the man as Miles, however.

So far, Lionel hasn’t commented on the incident. He’s scheduled to play two concerts in Hawaii on Thursday and Friday.
