Courtesy of VH1As first reported by The Blast and later confirmed by E! OnlineDavid Adesfeso has filed a restraining order Tuesday against Tamar Braxton, citing domestic violence.

Sources close to Braxton have now shared further details about what led to the filing, alleging David became “irate, threatening not only her life but his own” in a “murder-suicide.”

According to The Blast, the incident stemmed from a heated argument on the way to check Braxton into a mental health facility, an argument that began over an Instagram photo Adesfeso shared featuring Braxton’s 7-year-old son, Logan Herbert

During the argument, Braxton allegedly told David he was “around for the wrong reasons and could not be trusted.” The To Catch a Beautician star also claims she received bruises after David “grabbed her hard” on the arms. She claims she only grabbed onto him after he initiated contact with her.

This incident further alleges high tensions between the couple following Braxton’s hospitalization in July.  Nearly two months ago, Adefeso found Braxton “unconscious” in her hotel room after a suicide attempt.

The Braxton Family Values star recently said she is on the “path to healing” and focused on finding her “happy…through professional treatment” after 11 years of fighting for “ethical business practices in reality TV.”

“I’m on an irreversible path to healing, I am taking my time,” Braxton wrote on Instagram in July. “It is of the utmost importance that I find my happy and my health, through professional treatment, for the sake of my whole heart, Logan, who I forgot in my moment of distress and desperation.”

Due to recent happenings, the premiere of Tamar Braxton: Get Ya Life! was pushed back to Sept. 10.
