Report: Trump Will Not Unveil Official Obama Portrait

by

Breaking with a 40-year tradition, President Donald Trump reportedly will not be unveiling the official White House portrait of his predecessor, former President Barack Obama.

The news was first reported by NBC, that the event to unveil Obama’s official portrait wasn’t currently on the calendar, and may not even occur while Trump is in office, and that includes after the election, should Trump win second term.

According to NBC, “This would mean it could be 2025 before Obama’s portrait unveiling happens, the report states, despite Obama leaving office in 2017.”

The tradition of first-term presidents hosting their predecessor’s portrait ceremony dates back decades through many administrations and is supposed to represent a rare moment of harmony and camaraderie in Washington.

As a result, millions of Obama supporters have flooded their social media accounts with images of the former POTUS.
