Rihanna Ties The Beatles for Second-Most Weeks at Number One on Billboard Chart

RiRi’s single “Work” is number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for an eighth week, pushing her total time at the top of the chart to 59 weeks. This ties The Beatles for second-most weeks at number one on the chart. Mariah Carey leads with 79 weeks.

“Work” featuring Drake also is number one on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Dance Club Songs charts. It is Rihanna’s 14th number one hit on the Hot 100, placing her in third for chart-topping songs, behind The Fab Four with 20 and Carey with 18.

Here are the five artists who have spent the most weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100:

Mariah Carey — 79 weeks
Rihanna — 59 weeks
The Beatles  — 59 Weeks
Boyz II Men  — 50 weeks
Usher —  47 weeks
