Robin Thicke, John Legend Among Nominees for 2014 NAACP Image Awards This Saturday

NAACP Image AwardsJohn Legend will compete against Robin Thicke in multiple categories at the 45th NAACP Image Awards, which takes place this Saturday at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California.

Both crooners are nominated in the Outstanding Male Artist category as well as in the category of Outstanding Song for their respective hits “All of Me” and “Blurred Lines.” John’s Love in the Future and Robin’s Blurred Lines albums will also go head-to-head in the Outstanding Album category.

Janelle Monae also received multiple nominations, including Outstanding Female Artist, where she’s up against Beyonce, Mary J Blige, India.Arie and Ledisi. In addition, Monae’s video for “Q.U.E.E.N.”, featuring Erykah Badu, was recognized in the Outstanding Music Video category, which also includes Alicia Keys and Maxwell‘s steamy “Fire We Make” clip, as well as Bruno Mars‘ “Treasure.”

Other nominees include Charlie Wilson, Justin Timberlake, K. Michelle, Mariah Carey, Miguel, and Candice Glover, among others.

In addition, Stevie Wonder will give a special performance at the ceremony, which recognize the accomplishments of people of color in television, music, literature and film.

The evening’s other presenters include Tyler Perry, Arsenio Hall, Lou Gossett Jr., Ed Asner, and Ben Vereen.

NAACP Image Award winners will be announced during a two-hour star-studded TV One telecast on Saturday, February 22 at 9 p.m ET.
