Credit: ABC/Fred LeeRobin Thicke has climbed his way to the top spot on Billboard‘s Adult R&B Songs chart this week, thanks to his latest effort “That’s What Love Can Do.”
The single accounts for Thicke’s fifth number one on the chart, and is his first chart-topper in five years — since “For the Rest of My Life” reigned for five weeks in 2014.
The R&B crooner previously ascended to the summit with “Lost Without U” in 2007, “Love After War” in 2012, and “Blurred Lines” in 2014.
“That’s What Love Can Do” has spent a total of 15 weeks on the Adult R&B Songs tally, making it Thicke’s third-fastest record to reach number one. Prior to that, “Blurred Lines” wrapped its journey to the top slot in a matter of 10 weeks; “Lost Without U” did it in 14.
Thicke celebrated the news with fans via Instagram, writing: “Thank you to all the Urban AC stations supporting this record.”
