See Ashton Sanders, Shameik Moore and Dave East as Wu-Tang members in first-look trailer for ‘Wu-Tang: An American Saga’

Credit: Miikka Skaffari/Getty ImagesIt’s gonna be a Killer Bee type of summer, thanks to Hulu. The streaming service has dropped the first-look trailer for its upcoming Wu-Tang series, Wu-Tang: An American Saga.

The series, which was created and written by Wu-Tang Clan leader RZA and Superfly writer Alex Tse,  comes to Hulu on September 4.

The Wu-Tang inspired drama will be set in ’90s New York during the height of the crack cocaine epidemic. It will follow the group’s formation and examine how Bobby Diggs, better known as RZA, took his vision for the group and made it a success.

As previously noted, Shameik MooreAshton SandersSiddiq SaundersonMarcus CallenderZolee GriggsErika Alexander, Julian Elijah Martinez and Joey Bada$$ will star in the series.

Sanders will play RZA; Moore will portray Sha, an associate of a local drug dealer; Saunderson will play Ghostface Killah; Callender will portray Power, a “top dog” of the neighborhood; Griggs will play Ghostface Killah’s love interest; and Alexander will play an “overworked mother of four.”

The series, directed by The New Edition Story helmer Chris Robinson, will also have the group’s original members involved. Wu-Tang’s Method Man will serve as executive producer alongside RZA, with Ghostface Killa, Inspectah DeckMasta Killa and GZA serving as consulting producers.
