Image Courtesy Atlantic RecordsSevyn Streeter gets personal in her newly released single, “4th Street.” Unlike her upbeat, lead offering, “Don’t Kill the Fun” with Chris Brown, the singer slows it down and pays tribute to her hometown in her new tune.

“It’s my kind of people/The ones who say ‘Hi, nice to meet you,” she sings of her old neighbors from Haines City, Florida.

Sevyn offered up an explanation for her heartfelt song via Instagram. “Out of all the songs on my album it’s the one closest to my heart! Everyone has at least one person in their life that doesn’t want anything from you, they just wanna make sure you good!” Seyvn writes in the caption. “They’re the ones who make all the a**holes we encounter irrelevant!”

The singer adds that the song is named after the street on which she was raised, which we’ll soon see in an accompanying video. “The people in the video are the ones who grew up there with me & the ones I name at the end of the song are the angels who had a hand in molding my life! #4thStreet people are just “good ass people!” she adds.

“4th Street” will appear on Sevyn’s debut album, On the Verge, arriving later this year. The set will include collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign and August Alsina.
