Singer-actor Rotimi talks being signed to G-Unit and EGOT dreams

by

G-Unit Records/Sean EdwardsNot only does singer-actor Rotimi star as Dre in 50 Cent‘s critically-acclaimed drama series Power, he’s also signed to the “Candy Shop” rapper’s G-Unit label.

The multi-talented performer tells That Grape Juice that working with 50 “is one of those things where you learn by watching…by the way he moves.”

Rotimi explains, “He’s a modern-day renaissance man so he does everything very well and I want to do the same thing.”

“[I feel blessed] having him be a part of my life and to trust me and to invest in me and to tell me that he wants to see me winning and teach me. It’s a crash course to being a great man, so I’m just so happy and blessed to have him in my life.”

The performer himself has big dreams that include being a part of the illustrious group of EGOT members — those who’ve won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award.

Rotimi says, “In the next five years, I feel like I’ll have Grammys, I’ll have Tonys, I’ll have Emmys, I’ll have Oscars. That’s the goal and again, I’m very competitive, so if you’re not in this to be the best, then why are you doing it?

“In the next five years I want to be known as one of the best to do it,” he adds.

Rotimi may be firm on his bright future as an entertainer, but the “Nobody” artist is torn when it comes to choosing between Beyoncé or Rihanna.

“I respect both of them, but I like them for different reasons. Beyoncé, just what she represents is awesome but I love listening to Rihanna,” he admits.
