Social Media Video Shows Lake of The Ozarks Packed for Memorial Day Weekend Amid Pandemic

by

Health officials in Saint Louis County, Missouri have issued a travel advisory and Kansas City’s health director has called for self-quarantine after video shows hundreds of Memorial Day revelers packed together at Lake of The Ozarks. County executives released a statement, saying “This reckless behavior endangers countless people and risks setting us back from the progress we have made slowing the spread of COVID-19.” The county’s health department director wants anyone at Lake of The Ozarks over the weekend to self-quarantine for 14 days or until they receive a negative test result “out of compassion for others.” The bar owner where the massive party was held said previously that he would try to enforce social distancing but also said to Kansas City’s KSHB “We don’t know who’s in groups or families.  We expect them to do that on their own.”

Should the bar owner face any charges for not controlling his Memorial Day crowd?
