by

Universal MotownMany of the stars you saw Sunday night on the Grammy Awards remained in Los Angeles after the ceremony, just so they could take part in Tuesday night’s taping of the upcoming CBS special Stevie Wonder: Songs In the Key of Life — An All-Star Grammy Salute.

According to Yahoo!, a highlight of the evening was Beyonce teaming up with Ed Sheeran and guitarist Gary Clark Jr. to perform a medley of three of Stevie Wonder’s classics: “Fingertips Pt. 2,” “Master Blaster,” and ”Higher Ground.”  Ed also performed “I Was Made to Love Her.”

Another highlight was Lady Gaga, who sang “I Wish.” She told Wonder, “Stevie, you were a part of my life at such a young age…Your album was my first CD that I put myself in at age six in the CD player. It blew my mind. I think about this song and I think about my childhood and that moment, and I wish I could go back just one more time.”

According to Yahoo!, here are some of the other duets the audience enjoyed:

Jill Scott, Janelle Monae and India.Arie: “As”

Pharrell Williams & OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder: “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing”

Babyface & Ariana Grande: “Signed, Sealed Delivered”

Andrea Bocelli: “I Just Called to Say I Love You”

The Band Perry: “You Haven’t Done Nothing”

Annie Lennox: “My Cherie Amour”

Jennifer Hudson: “All Is Fair in Love”

Ne-Yo: “Isn’t She Lovely,” accompanied by the subject of the song, Stevie’s daughter, Aisha Morris.

Yahoo! also notes that three performers who’d been announced as taking part in the event — Usher, Chris Martin and Willie Nelson — were no-shows.

According to Yahoo!, Wonder closed the show with a five-song mini-set that included “Sir Duke,” “You Are the Sunshine of My Life,” “Ribbon in the Sky,” “Overjoyed,” and “Superstition.”  He told the crowd, “I could not leave this building, this planet, without letting you all know how much I thank you. I love you…I encourage all of us as artists to write songs about love. Love is the key, and you’ve given me love, and I thank you for it.”

Stevie Wonder: Songs In the Key of Life — An All-Star Grammy Salute airs Monday night on CBS.
