Desiree Navarro/WireImageStokley Williams is gearing up to release his sophomore album, Sankofa, featuring Snoop Dogg, The Bonfyre and more.  But he’s really excited about working with fellow R&B virtuoso, singer and songwriter H.E.R.

The “Cascade” singer tells ABC Audio that he and the Grammy-winner have collaborated on a track that may be featured on his album.

“It’s going wherever she wants to go,” Stokley tells ABC Audio about H.E.R.’s music career.  “She’s amazing.”

“I love seeing woman do their thing,” he continues. “Yes, it’s normal and natural, but in this kind of male-dominated thing, I want that. So I really applaud that.”

Stokely gives thanks to H.E.R.’s manager, Jeff Robinson, for getting them together and for working with such groundbreaking artists.

“Because we need more of that,” he says. “I mean, there’s some women out here who are just blazing trails. And I love it. I’m inspired by it. I’m inspired by H.E.R., the artist, and yeah, I see her doing some amazing things. She’s just getting started.”

Stokley said he was “delighted” to work with H.E.R. and “to put my little stank on it, so that it’s a true collaboration.”

“It’s great. It just feels good and floaty,” adds Stokely. “It’s feels real good. So I’m really glad to be working alongside H.E.R.”

Sankofa arrives next month.
