Taylor Hill/FilmMagicAfter announcing in January he’s finally found his star for his gay superhero film, Lee Daniels is finally offering fans some details on his upcoming project.
In an interview during the TIME 100 Summit attended by Deadline, Daniels revealed he will not only produce the project, but put some of his own money behind it.
“I’m not putting that much money behind it,” Daniels told the moderator, after confirm that he’s officially moving forward with project titled Superbitch. “A couple million dollars for a gay superhero movie is pretty f***ing exciting!”
Although Daniels kept quiet about additional film details, the Empire creator did share his excitement about his new superhero known online as Superb****.
“I found him on Instagram of all places,” Daniels said. “He does backflips and he has a cape and he does karate and, oh my God, he’s going to be a hero!”
As previously reported, Superb**** is an openly gay actor and comedian from Southeast, D.C., who often seen twirling, back-flipping, and seeming protecting the world from homophobes, and notorious ex-boyfriends on social media.
