After the global success of their Verzuz platform, co-founders Swizz Beatz and Timbaland have announced their upcoming “rematch” this Memorial Day Weekend.
The battle between the two super producers will be much different than their initial matchup on Instagram live last year.
This time, Swizz and Timbaland will battle it out at LIV nightclub in Miami on Sunday, May 30th at 8 p.m. ET, as part of what they call the “new Verzuz Live.” Details on the “new Verzuz Live” were not revealed, yet it could mean there will be a live audience in attendance.
Swizz and Timbo first battled it out on Instagram Live in the first-ever Verzuz in March 2020, which became a cultural phenomenon during the pandemic. The duo first hinted at a “rematch” in March 2021 while announcing a slew of other matchups, including The Isley Brothers and Earth, Wind & Fire, andRedman and Method Man.
The latest Verzuz battle took place on Mother’s Day weekend earlier this month between legendary R&B groups SWV and Xscape. Meanwhile, Soulja Boy took to Instagram to reveal a Verzuz matchup between himself and Bow Wow next month, which has yet to be confirmed.
Tune into the Swizz Beatz and Timbaland Verzuz “rematch” on Sunday, May 30th at 8 p.m. ET on Instagram, as well as on the Triller app and Fite TV.
