Angela Bassett‘s been acting for more than 30 years, but she’s never won an Academy Award. That thought came to SZA‘s mind early Sunday morning, hours before the annual ceremony took place.
“Realizing Angela Basset [sic] doesn’t already have an Oscar make me wanna knock sh** over,” she tweeted. Angela would later lose the Best Supporting Actress award to Jamie Lee Curtis of Everything Everywhere All at Once, which upset the acting icon’s fans.
Creed III stars Jonathan Majors and Michael B. Jordan sent their love to Angela onstage following the loss. While presenting the award for Best Cinematography, Michael said, “Hey Auntie,” with Jordan adding, “We love you.”
