ABC/Ida Mae AstuteTamar Braxton is ready to help fans officially get their life!
In a new Instagram post on Tuesday, Braxton shared that she will be hosting VH1’s upcoming reality series, To Catch a Beautician.
“This is the show you wanna see me in,” she wrote, sharing the announcement from Variety.
According to the write-up, Braxton is partnering with celebrity hairstylist Johnny Wright on the series, which will premiere on May 25. The plan is for the two creatives to “help clients confront the beautician who damaged their hair.”
Wright then will put the stylist through a “hair boot camp” before giving them the opportunity to “redeem themselves by redoing their disgruntled clients’ hair.”
“I’ve been so excited about this. This is like a dream come true to be able to host a show that’s so much fun with an amazing production company…and amazing network like VH1,” Braxton told Variety. “To meet so many amazing people and to be able to inspire and be inspired at the same time, It’s such a feel-good show.
“You crack up, but you feel good about yourself after watching it,” she continued. “I’m just really, really grateful to be a part of that.”
Braxton also commented on her personal connection to Wright, who, in addition to having clients like Queen Latifah, Kerry Washington, and Regina King, served as First Lady Michelle Obama’s personal hairstylist.
“I’d met him before at the White House when I went to go talk to Michelle [Obama],” Braxton recalled of her partnership with Wright. “It just worked. And it was just so educational and entertaining at the same time. So it was really, really refreshing.”
To Catch a Beautician premieres May 25 at 9 p.m. ET. on VH1.
