Tamar Braxton’s mom says singer’s marriage with Vincent Herbert was definitely a volatile relationship

by

Tamar Braxton; ABC/Lorenzo BevilaquaTamar Braxton‘s mom, Evelyn Braxton, isn’t backing down from her previous claims that Tamar’s estranged husband, Vincent Herbert, was abusive towards the “My Man” star during their almost decade-long marriage.

In a new interview with theGrio, Evelyn says, “It was definitely a volatile relationship.”

“This has been going on for years. Everybody saw Vince as a knight and shining armor, [but] behind closed doors that’s a horse of another color.”

She adds, “I’m tired of [Tamar] being abused and misused.”

As previously reported, Evelyn told TMZ in a video earlier this month that she wanted Vincent to “keep his hands off of my child” before “he hurts her or kills her.”

Although there were reports that Tamar and Evelyn were on the outs, Evelyn tells theGrio that they are “talking” and “hugging.”

She also confirms that Tamar and Vince’s reported domestic dispute in a Ritz-Carlton hotel in Atlanta in 2016 did in fact happen.

“I think too many women are abused, and it’s high time that we stand up and stop this madness,” Evelyn says.

“Do you know how many women are killed each year? I just don’t want Tamar to be a part of that.”

Tamar filed for divorce from Vincent in October.

Evelyn says that even though “it’s too bad they couldn’t work it out,” she’s “tired of her [Tamar] being abused and misused.”

“And I’m tired of being in the middle of it,” she adds. “It’s harder than what you think.”
