Tank’s savagely fighting for fans and love with forthcoming album, Savage

by

Taj StansberryR&B singer Tank is gearing up to release a new album this year, titled Savage, which will be the long-awaited follow-up to his 2014 disc, Stronger.

In an interview with ThisIsRnB during this year’s Essence Festival in New Orleans, the star says that fans can expect Savage, which drops this September, to spread love around the world.

“We’re savagely fighting for this space. We are aggressively injecting love back into the community,” he says.

“That’s what we’re doing. Period. Point blank. And I’m real happy about it. I’m happy that we’re being aggressive. I’m happy that we’re fighting. I’m happy that, you know, love has an army.”

And Tank’s army, while on his mission of love, includes a handful of big names and up-and-coming stars featured on the album: Trey SongzLudacris, J. Valentine and Candice Boyd

“Those people fit,” said Tank in reference to all four. “They fit the music. Even during the inception [of Savage], it was like, ‘Ooooh, this will be dope with…’ It was that.”

He adds, “That’s pretty much how I do features. I just, I go with who works. And I go with the people who wanna work with me. That’s it.”

Tank’s new single from Savage, “When We,” is out now.
