Teyana Taylor scores gold with Gonna Love Me

by

Bryce Thompson/GQTeyana Taylor is going gold with her smash hit “Gonna Love Me,” a deep cut off 2018’s K.T.S.E.

According to the Recording Industry Association of America, the record has moved over 50,000 units since its release last June.

The original version of the ballad has amassed over 38 million streams on Spotify, whereas the Wu-Tang Clan-assisted remix, featuring RaekwonMethod Man and Ghostface Killah, has earned 5.5 million streams.

Taylor shared the news with her fans in a celebratory post on Instagram, summing up her initial reaction as being “speechless.”

“I will change my caption when I stop crying & can gather the words,” she added.

Next month, the Harlem-bred singer is set to dominate the stage at the 2019 Red Bull Music Festival in New York. Her performance is billed as bringing to life her “liberating” House of Petunia, an ode to the provocative and vibrant ballroom culture that was cultivated in her beloved hometown.
