The countdown is on: Beyoncé and Laverne Cox are collaborating on a new project

by

ABC/Image Group LABeyoncé and Orange is the New Black star Laverne Cox are working on a “new project” together.

The actress and LGBTQ advocate confirmed the exciting news on Facebook by sharing a video post of her recent appearance on Access Hollywood Live, where host Kit Hoover first revealed the collaboration.

She writes, “Yes it’s true. I am collaborating with @beyonce on a new project. #QueenBey herself. More details Sept. 6 #Beyonce.”

When asked during the interview how she hooked up with Bey, Laverne tells Kit and guest co-host Dondre Whitfield, “I have no idea, to be perfectly honest.”

“I’m like, ‘Does she pick up her biggest fans ever and let them work with her?’ It’s pretty amazing.”

Cox also recalls the first time she met Beyonce: it was at the Grammys earlier this year, and things didn’t go as she predicted.

“I thought the first time that I would meet Beyoncé, I would totally start crying and freak out and I was always, literally for years I’d been like, ‘I don’t wanna freak out, I wanna be, like, really calm,’ and I thought I would cry,” she says.

But surprisingly, the actress kept her cool.

“I swear to you, a sense of calm comes over you when you meet the queen,” she says.
