Image courtesy Republic RecordsThe Weeknd has been tapped to showcase at the 2015 Juno Awards, the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys.
The Toronto singer is scheduled to perform his hit single “Earned It” from the soundtrack to the film Fifty Shades of Grey. The event will mark his first performance at the upcoming ceremony, which will also see him competing in the coveted Artist of the Year category as well as R&B/Soul Recording of the Year.
Other nominees includes Drake, who is up for Fan Choice Award and Single of the Year for “Hold On, We’re Going Home” featuring Majid Jordan. A full list of nominees can be found at JunoAwards.ca.
The 2015 Juno Awards will take place at Hamilton’s First Ontario Centre on Sunday, March 15.
